GENDER EQUALITY: UNI/PDR 125:2022

In March 2022, the National Standardization Body UNI published the reference practice UNI/PdR 125:2022 which defines criteria, technical requirements and functional elements for the certification of gender equality, which falls within the mandatory provisions of Law 5 November 2021 n . 162 on equal pay.

THE REFERENCE PRACTICE UNI/PDR 125:2022

Any organization, whether public, private or non-profit, regardless of the size and nature of the activity, can undertake the process to request this certification.

The Guide provides companies with a tool to adhere to the UN2030 agenda and comply with the requirements of Mission 5 of the PNRR on equal opportunities and the reduction of the gender gap in companies. It therefore has the objective of starting a systemic process of cultural change in organizations in order to achieve more equal gender equality, overcoming the stereotyped vision of roles and activating female talents to stimulate the country’s economic and social growth.

THE AREAS OF EVALUATION

In order for actions aimed at gender equality to be effective, the practice defines a series of feasible, relevant and comparable KPIs, capable of guiding change and representing continuous improvement. In addition, 6 evaluation areas have been identified for the different variables that distinguish an inclusive organization:

  • Culture and strategy;
  • governance;
  • HR processes;
  • Opportunities for growth and inclusion of women;
  • Remuneration equity by gender;
  • Protection of parenthood and work-life balance.
